Needing More Wisdom for Myself & My Son and a Thought on Marriage

The older I get, more and more I see the importance of gaining knowledge, putting it into practice (in some way, if possible), and hoping that it blossoms into wisdom that I can share.  I really hope that I hold on to many things to share with my son.  To gain more knowledge is a wonderful thing, if for no other reason than to enlighten this wonderful little human being.  Everything will be new to him.  Scratch that!  Everything IS new to him.  Right now!  I hope and desire to start him off (as soon as he is able to understand) with the idea that growing in knowledge is a good thing.  I am gathering books now to start a library of sorts for that future home that his mother and I will possibly build.  I want there to be writings from various topics, from politics to religion to philosophy, from Plato to Thomas Aquinas, all laid out on the bookshelves of my home.  I pray that God will allow me the time to completely read all of them myself, share them with my son, and discuss them with him.  It would be a joy to my soul for my son to be a great academic, intellectual, writer, or a combination of all the above.  However, I do not know the future and I hope that I will be the kind of father that will love him, even if he says that he desires a job doing physical labor.  Regardless, I want him to be a rational individual and be a benefit to those around him when he is a man.

I want him to understand that you cannot gorge out enough on Truth!

  1. GOD’S WORD HAS ENDURED THE TEST OF TIME FOR A REASON:
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Psalm 111:10
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM and HE shall direct thy paths.. Be not wise in thine own eyes, fear the LORD, AND DEPART from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7
