Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6 NIV
Did you know that we, as greeters, can be and should be godly examples to young people? Well, you can be and should be desiring to greet others in such a way that it blesses them spiritually and physically. Then, when we are seen by anyone – in this particular case, we are speaking of young people and children – we should hope that it will encourage to live and do the same.
Many times when a child is growing older, you will see parents reminding the child to speak when spoken to. They are wanting the child to understand the importance of communicating with others in different situations. Communication is obviously important because we are letting others know what we are thinking or how we are feeling or whatever.
Well, greeting is an important aspect of communication. In greeting someone with the joy of the Lord, we can communicate to them that they can have that kind of joy, worship with that kind of joy, and worship with others that believe in and worship Jesus the Christ as their Lord and Savior as well.
Hopefully, the little ones around us will take notice of how we greet as how it can be done as a service to the Lord and a loving way to communicate. But even if they do not watch this example, let us remember to intentionally train them up to greet in such a manner: greeting others in a loving and joyful manner in Christ-likeness.
[Let us pray that our children learn to GREET OTHERS and never depart from what they learn.]
GREETING OTHERS WITH THE JOY OF THE LORD IS VERY IMPORTANT.
