Next on Thinking It Through: I have the opportunity to interview a professor of history – Dr. Dana Caldemeyer – about her dissertation, which is called Run of the Mine: Miners, Farmers, and the Non-Union Spirit of the Gilded Age, 1886 – 1896. We touch mainly on issues with corruption during the late 1800s with those working in coal mines and how it affected society then. This interview reminded me of the nuance to history.
